Sturminster Newton
Merry Christmas. Sturminster Newton is the start for our next ramble which is on Sunday 28th December. It's to be a 'fig. of 8' walk. AM: 6 mls - around Fiddleford Mill, Piddles Wood and Broad Oak. The route is over fields, tracks and lanes so muddy in places if wet. Moderate. PM (optional): 3 mile route, nearby countryside towards Hinton St Mary. Fairly easy. Tarrant Rushton
Next ramble details: Sunday 21st December starting from near Tarrant Rushton, approx 4 miles east of Blandford Forum. It will be a circular walk above the Tarrant valley and Manswood. Gentle rolling route along footpaths and farm tracks, 7.5 miles, no stiles, not strenuous. Exposed in part in bad weather. No pub or cafe stop, so please bring a drink and picnic lunch. Corfe Castle
CANCELLED, With apologies, due to the route being flooded. On Sunday 7th December we'll be rambling from Corfe Castle on a circular 7 mile, interesting, varied & mostly new route through woodland and over open heath N of Corfe. Moderate: some ups & downs but not strenuous, also mostly reasonably sheltered. Will be muddy in places if wet. Please bring a drink / snack / picnic lunch etc. One or two local cafes may be open at end of walk, OR (suggestion) visit The Fox Inn (book for 2pm). Email...
